Patient Rights & Responsibilities

Your Care, Your Rights

We are committed to treating every patient with dignity, respect, and transparency — aligned with NABH patient-care standards.

Our commitment

Dignity, respect, and compassion

Treating patients with dignity and respect is one of RMC's core values. As a NABH-accredited hospital, we deliver care with empathy and compassion, with a focus on patient safety, satisfaction, and confidentiality. Every patient and family member has defined rights — and shared responsibilities — that help us work together for the best outcomes.

Patient rights

Upholding the rights of every patient

At Revathi Medical Center, every patient has the right to:

  • Right to receive care without discrimination based on age, gender, religion, caste, or economic status.
  • Right to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times.
  • Right to know the name and role of the doctors, nurses, and staff caring for you.
  • Right to receive clear information about your diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes in a language you understand.
  • Right to give informed consent before any procedure, investigation, or treatment — and to refuse or withdraw consent.
  • Right to privacy and confidentiality of your medical information.
  • Right to access your medical records and receive a discharge summary.
  • Right to a safe and clean care environment, consistent with NABH patient-safety standards.
  • Right to seek a second opinion and to be referred to another facility when appropriate.
  • Right to express concerns, give feedback, or lodge a grievance without fear of reprisal.
Patient responsibilities

Partnering in your care

Patients and families help us provide the best care when they:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your health history, medications, allergies, and current symptoms.
  • Follow the treatment plan agreed with your doctor, including medications, follow-up visits, and lifestyle advice.
  • Inform your care team promptly if your condition changes or if you experience unexpected side effects.
  • Respect hospital policies, including visiting hours, infection-control measures, and restricted areas.
  • Treat hospital staff, other patients, and visitors with courtesy and respect.
  • Take responsibility for your personal belongings during your stay.
  • Settle hospital bills as advised and carry valid ID, insurance, or scheme documents for cashless processing.
  • Not bring unauthorized persons into clinical areas or interfere with the care of other patients.
  • Use emergency services responsibly — for genuine emergencies that require immediate medical attention.
